Advanced Placement Program (AP)
Introduction
Wilson Senior High School offers as many as 18 Advanced Placement (AP) courses, which include academic offerings in every department. These academically rigorous courses enable students to receive college credit prior to entering college. We have adopted an open admission policy in the AP English courses and the AP U.S. Government courses in order to encourage more participation and to expand the learning opportunities for all our students. Many students successfully take multiple AP classes and report the enormous value of these courses in preparing them for the rigorous demands of college academic life. Any students interested in taking AP classes should speak with their teacher in the given subject area and/or their counselor. AP courses are offered in the following subject areas, depending on student interest and faculty availability.
