Wilson to UDC Student and Parent Orientation Sessions

In order to prepare our parents and students for the first day of school, we are offering numerous orientation opportunities for you to come in and tour the school, hear plans for how we will operate, and ask any questions that you may have.

The primary orientation session will be on Thursday, August 19, 2010 from 6:30 to 9:00 PM in the UDC auditorium.  We encourage ALL parents and students to attend together as we can accommodate up to 700 people in the auditorium.  If you are unable to attend this session, we will have other small group sessions but will be limited to the first 100 people.  The sessions will take place in Building 52 at the following dates and times:

                        Wednesday, August 18, 2010                           1:00-3:30 pm

                        Thursday, August 19, 2010                               9:00-11:30 am

                        Thursday, August 19, 2010                            6:30-9:00 pm

                        Friday, August 20, 2010                                   2:00-4:30 pm

                        Saturday, August 21, 2010                               9:00-11:30 am

                        Sunday, August 22, 2010                                 1:00-3:30 pm

Students will be able to pick up their tentative schedule and be able to take their ID photo if they need a new ID.  Students must complete their residency verification before they will be admitted into an orientation session and provided their schedule.

ALL Students and Parents are encouraged to attend one of the orientation sessions.

As we enter into summer vacation, it's not only the best time of year for fun in the sun, but also some great reading!  Every returning student must complete their grade level specific summer reading activity.  Students, be sure to pick up a summer reading list from your English teacher or download it from the internet.  The assignment is due the first day of school and you will have several class discussions and a test on the novel throughout the first week of school.  So begin the 2010-2011 school year off on a great start by simply reading a fantastic novel.  Enjoy your summer and happy reading!
